
Mr. Bi Meijia, Director-General of Department of Personnel and Labor and Member of CPC Leading Group of MOA, led a delegation to Israel on Nov. 6-9, 2016 and visited the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Agency for International Development Cooperation (Mashav).
At the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Bi Meijia exchanged views with Director General Mr. Ben Eliyahu on agricultural personnel training and institutional development. The two sides agreed, on the basis of existing friendly cooperation, to identify a number of major projects in dryland agriculture, dairy farming, fertilizer and agrichemicals application etc. to push forward personnel exchanges and cooperation. Mr. Bi particularly referred to the training programme for Chinese teachers, which is expected to be more efficient and deliver a better catalytic effect.
At the Agency for International Development Cooperation, Mr. Bi Meijia had an in-depth discussion with Mr.Gil Haskel, Head of the Agency. Mr. Bi Meijia conveyedhis appreciation for Israel's long-term support in agricultural training projects, looking forward to the establishment of a cooperation mechanism for agricultural personnel training. They discussed future agricultural training cooperation. The Israeli side indicated that after further refinement of the training programme, the Embassy of Israel in China will be authorized to sign the Cooperation Plan on Agricultural Personnel Exchange and Training with the Chinese side.
During his stay in Israel, Mr. Bi Meijia also visited some kibbutzim and moshavim, as well as the joint venture of Brightdairy& Food Co. in Israel.
